This regatta starts on Friday with social events and heads into the weekend with races on Saturday and Sunday. Join in on dinners, evening entertainment, barbecues, and more.

Customary warm-up races kick off this annual event, which is now in its 30th year. The big race takes place Saturday over a 25-mile course on the Bras d’Or Lakes. Hosted by the Wallace MacAskill Yacht Club. Stay after the races for chowder, games, awards, entertainment, and tour this historic Cape Breton village.

Kick off the first Sunday in August with, this regatta hosted by the Bras d’Or Yacht Club and some of the best racing on the Bras d’Or Lakes. There will be a sail through on the lakes and then races every day. There are classes for junior sailors in prams, optimists, lasers, and 420s. This race in Lewisporte Harbour is open to all sailors of skill level and crew compliments. A cup presentation and social will be held in the clubhouse after the race. Hosted along with the town’s annual Mussel Soiree.

Chester has a long history of yacht racing and Chester Race Week sees boats from all around compete over a few days in August. This is the largest annual keelboat race in North America. Courses include inshore racing, distance racing, one-design, Bluenose class, and classics racing. The events social schedule includes dancing and live entertainment.

With more than 400 acts over six days, there’s more than enough styles and sounds for every visitor. Listen to Cajun, blues, jazz shows at great prices.
